| Great Circle Writing Services' Guide to Greener Computing |

Computers, TVs, cell phones, and other electronics contain toxic materials that have serious environmental and health impacts.
To learn why electronic waste (e-waste) is an important environmental and health issue, visit the Computer Take-Back Campaign (http://www.computertakeback.com/) or Northwest Product Stewardship Council (http://www.productstewardship.net/productsElectronics.html).
Greenpeace’s Green Electronics Guide ranks computer and mobile phone manufacturers on their global, manufacturing, and take-back policies and performance (http://www.greenpeace.org/international/campaigns/toxics/electronics/copy-of-how-the-companies-line).
The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) allows users to search and compare ratings of specific computer models (http://www.epeat.net/).
The Computer Take-Back Campaign lists which computer manufacturers will take back their old models and how to trade in your used electronics for cash (http://www.computertakeback.com/docUploads/Using_takeback_programsv8%5B1%5D.pdf).
